Day 33: Angels Singing - Sunday, April 15, 2012

Last night was not what we were hoping for in that Scott seemed to awake every hour.  The reason was that just before going to bed, he and Ashley were told that he would be having the MRI for his eyes at 6am.  Scott went to sleep with this thought and it generated a sense of urgency over sleeping in and missing the MRI appointment.  It wasn't until Ashley got him to go back to sleep with something else (a soccer game) on his mind that Scott was finally able to remain at rest.

Here is Scott's report of his MRI this morning.

Because of the MRI, Scott's Breakfast was delayed, he napped and two hours later time for lunch.  After lunch he entertained visitors and discussed fine dining...

Scott was weighed this afternoon and he is up to 167 lbs, this is 18 lbs less than he weighed before his accident.and he has gained a total of 12 pounds back!  We had Scott review information for his Rehabilitation Personal Planner.  This included a list of his surgeries.

We broke out some streaming music so Scott could sing along.  Not a dry eye in the house...

We will close today's blog article with a message directly from Scott.

  1. Scott,
You thanked us for visiting your blog, when it is our honor to visit your blog every day and see all the miraculous progress you are making.
THANK YOU MICKEY & CAROL & ASHLEY & PATTI for allowing us the opportunity to share in this incredible journey.
It brings tears to our eyes to see you and hear you. We all love you so very much and want you to continue to get better. You look so wonderful now that it is almost unbelievable to think that you were in a coma just a couple of weeks ago.
And here's some great news for us. Hopefully, you will be excited, too. We are going to get to see you in less than two weeks !!
As we return home from San Diego on Sat April 28th, we are going to "swing out of our way a bit" so that I can get a hug.
Unless I hear otherwise, we'll bring chicken tenders, but honestly Scott, you name it & I'll bring it if it's permitted. What's your all-time #1 favorite food? Crab? Lobster? Steak?Avocado? Chocolate? Ice Cream? Pizza? a Donut?, etc, etc. You salivate over the options and let me know.
We are SO VERY EXCITED to think about seeing you !!!

    1. If you are using an Apple iPad you will not be able to play the videos. Blogspot.com will display video on PC or Mac browsers with Flash. Hope this helps.

  3. Scott,

Hey! It's Heidi Fjeldsted (Sister Cushing). I was just thinking about the MTC and how dedicated you were to speaking German all of the time. You were such a great example to me of hard work, and my testimony grew so much of how much Heavenly Father blesses us for obedience and diligence. That will continue to be the case for you now.

Prayers for you and love for your wonderful family,

    Heidi
